Description:
Founded in 1945, healthcare provider Kaiser Permanente serves more than 8.9 million members through 36 hospitals and 533 medical offices around the United States.
Kaiser Permanente is using Vela Systems' field management software, BIM and iPads on projects all around the country. Typically, contractors are responsible for quality, safety and commissioning, leading up to a handover deliverable of information to operate the final facility. Owners, like Kaiser Permanente, are dispelling the notion that they should be "hands off" in this area. Instead, they are leveraging Vela Systems to create standard field management approaches for these key areas of project risk.
Two case studies are explored: the Gwinett Medical Center project in Georgia and the Oakland Rebuild project in California. Topics covered include field management of quality and safety with iPads, BIM for facilities management, implementation lessons learned, and key benefits.
Both owner and contractor perspectives are explored along with a Q&A session.
Speakers:
• Alexander M. Herr, Senior Project Manager, Gwinnett, GA Medical Center Project, Kaiser Permanente
• David Warmouth, Facility Service Liaison, Oakland, CA Medical Center Rebuild Project, Kaiser Permanente
