BNi Building News is a leading publisher and distributor of books and reference materials for the construction industry. In cooperation with numerous state and local agencies, as well as code developers, BNi publishes codes and specifications in such areas as life safety, electrical construction, and public works. BNi Building News also specializes in publishing a wide variety of cost estimating references, and legal books and forms for the building trades.
BNi Building News Construction WorkZone is a comprehensive collection of resources and online tools for the construction professional. Vela Systems is proud to be a member of the National Institute of Building Sciences and buildingSMARTalliance National BIM Standard Project Committee.
The buildingSMART alliance, a council of the National Institute of Building Sciences, Vendor Forum is open to all vendors actively involved with the development of open standards supporting software. This group helps maintain an awareness of efforts by the buildingSMART alliance, including the National CAD Standard©, the National BIM Standard-United States™, and projects listed on www.buildingsmartalliance.org.

CSI's BIM Practice Group focuses on issues related to managing the Information components of BIM that are emerging as BIM continues to grow in acceptance and application. Members share presentations and demonstrations of the innovative ways firms are meeting the Information challenges BIM has created, and discuss the role of members and CSI standards and formats in integrating construction documentation into the BIM world.
